Ready for your next mer-adventure? The Spellbound Lyra Silicone Mermaid Tail brings the realism, movement, and magic of our full silicone Spellbound tails into a more simplified design with carefully selected color options.

Each Lyra tail is handcrafted by Mertailor using platinum-grade silicone, the same type of material commonly used throughout the professional special effects industry. The entire exterior of the tail is 100% silicone, featuring our beautifully sculpted three-dimensional scales and the flowing shape of our Lyra fluke.

Inside, a poly-spandex liner is cast directly into the silicone during the manufacturing process. This helps reinforce the tail while also making it more comfortable and easier to put on and take off.

What makes this version of the Spellbound Lyra a little different is the color. Instead of starting with endless customization options, we’ve created a selection of established colorways that we know look incredible both in and out of the water. Each one begins with a beautiful base color, followed by black antiquing to bring out the depth of the scales, and is finished with a shimmering color-shifting pigment. As the light moves across the tail, those colors shift and reflect much like the scales of a real fish.

While the color design has been simplified, the fit has not.

The Lyra Fluke

The Spellbound Lyra Silicone Mermaid Tail is offered exclusively with our Lyra fluke—one of our favorite designs for its beautiful shape, size, and movement in the water.

The Lyra fluke is made from 100% solid poured silicone and features Mertailor’s patent-pending Flowing Fin System. There is no hard fiberglass or polycarbonate blade hidden inside. Instead, the design relies on the shape and flexibility of the silicone itself to create propulsion and that soft, flowing movement we want from a realistic mermaid tail.

Removing the traditional hard blade also means there’s nothing inside the fluke that can snap, separate, or eventually work its way through the silicone.

For comfort, soft silicone foot pockets are molded directly into the fluke with individual silicone ankle straps permanently attached to help keep your feet comfortably and securely in place.

In the water, the Lyra provides gentle propulsion with great maneuverability while still maintaining that beautiful, natural flow. It moves with you rather than feeling overly rigid, making it equally at home during underwater performances, mermaid swimming, or simply enjoying some time beneath the surface.

The end result is a fluke that looks beautiful standing still—but really comes to life once it hits the water.

Production Time

Please allow approximately 36–48 weeks for production. We know—that’s a long time! Every Spellbound Lyra tail is handcrafted from start to finish, and we plan our production schedule around the longest amount of time your tail may take to complete.

Your tail may absolutely be finished sooner, but we would rather give you a realistic window from the beginning than promise a shorter turnaround that we may not be able to meet.

Order volume and other factors can occasionally affect production times, but we will never rush a tail at the expense of its quality or craftsmanship.

Because completion dates can vary, please do not schedule performances, appearances, photo shoots, trips, or other events around your tail until you have received confirmation that it is complete and ready to ship.

Age Recommendation

Spellbound Silicone Mermaid Tails are not recommended for children under 16 years of age.

Safety

Mermaid swimming is an aquatic activity and should always be approached with safety in mind. Mermaid tails should be used with appropriate adult supervision and never in water beyond the swimmer’s ability or comfort level.

As with any swimming activity, the user assumes the risks associated with use. Mertailor cannot be held responsible for injuries resulting from improper, unsafe, or unintended use of the product.

Every Spellbound Lyra Silicone Mermaid Tail is made specifically for you and your measurements. Because of this, all sales are final and custom tails are non-returnable and non-refundable.

After your order is placed, a member of the Mertailor team will personally contact you to collect the measurements needed to make your tail. It is important that the measurements provided are accurate, as Mertailor cannot be responsible for fit issues resulting from incorrect measurements.
