At Mertailor, our fabric mermaid tails are made from two main parts: the monofin you swim with and the tail skin designed to fit that specific monofin.
The most important thing to know is that our tail skins are not interchangeable between monofin styles. Each skin is designed to fit its matching fin for the best shape, comfort, and swimming experience.

Beginner Option: Guppy Tails
Guppy Tails are our most economical beginner option. They are made from durable performance spandex with 4-way stretch and are designed for a snug, lightweight fit.
Guppy Tails use the Mermaid Linden Monofin by Body Glove, a plastic and rubber hard-bladed fin.
Best for: beginners, budget-friendly ordering, and lightweight swimming.
Step-Up Option: Full Fantasea Tails
Full Fantasea Tails are a practical upgrade from the Guppy Tail. These skins are also made from durable performance spandex, but they fit our Original Fantasea Fin 1, which is made from 100% silicone.
The Fantasea Fin 1 is slightly heavier than the Linden fin, but still manageable for travel, training, and everyday mermaid swimming.
Best for: swimmers who want a silicone fin experience without moving into the larger premium fins.
Premium Option: Whimsy Tails
Whimsy Tails are our premium fabric tail line. These skins are made from scuba knit fabric, giving them a thicker, more opaque, cushy, and luxurious feel.
Whimsy Skins are available for our Fantasea Fin models, including the larger Fantasea Fins that create a more dramatic mermaid shape and swimming presence.
Optional bonus fins, such as hip, pec, calf, and dorsal fins, can create a more dimensional fantasy look.
Best for: swimmers ready for a more premium, dramatic, customizable mermaid tail.
Make Sure Your Skin Matches Your Fin
- A Guppy skin fits the Linden Monofin.
- A Full Fantasea skin fits the Fantasea Fin 1.
- A Whimsy skin must be ordered for the specific Fantasea Fin model you choose.
Order Both Pieces
- Most fabric tails require two separate items.
- Make sure the tail skin and matching monofin are both in your cart.
- The monofin is not included with the skin unless the product page specifically says otherwise.
Sizing Your Tail Skin
Tail skins should be chosen from the size chart for the exact tail type you are ordering. Guppy, Full Fantasea, and Whimsy tails each use their own chart, so double-check the chart that matches your selected skin before adding it to your cart.

Use the Guppy size chart for Linden-compatible Guppy tail skins. There are separate charts for kids and adults.
